Our great client is on the hunt for a Contract Assistant that would be responsible for managing vendors insurance certificate compliance program, tracks insurance expiration dates and notifies vendors when certificate expires. - Contract opportunity will run through September ( with possible extensions)
- Temporarily remote until client returns to office
This position will support the Manager of Procurement Contracts Administration by:
Managing vendors insurance certificate compliance program, tracks insurance expiration dates and notifies vendors when certificate expires
Work in partnership with the Contracts Associate on administrative tasks and special projects as needed
Preparing and proofreading form contracts and contract amendments
Tracks contracts status to ensure contracts are received by vendors and executed timely
Coordinates the contract execution process, and ensures all documents are executed properly, and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Four (4) years of combined experience in contract drafting and insurance compliance working as a contracts associate, legal assistant or paralegal. Public procurement experience preferred.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
Know how to read/understand contract language.
Once contract is reviewed, know/understand what the insurance requirements are and are those requirements met with the certificate of insurance (COI).
The ability to explain to the companies what needs to be added to their coverage to agree with what JEA is requiring in their contract to include on the certificate of insurance (COI).
Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word (track changes feature), and Adobe
Strong proofreading and writing ability
Knowledge of contract language, terms and conditions
Familiar with Insurance certificates
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
Education: Bachelors degree required.
